This small, historic fishing haven is nestled in a large bay sheltered from the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Diving conditions are stable almost all year round, which, combined with easy access to the water, allows diving for all levels, even when it is impossible elsewhere on the island.
This coast is listed by the Natura 2000 Network as a Special Marine Conservation Zone (ZEC) of the Macaronesian Biogeographic Region.
Sardina Bay, in Gáldar, is an incredible refuge for biodiversity, where living beings from all phyla find the perfect ecosystem here to develop all the stages of their life. We can find numerous kinds of invertebrates, fields of soft and hard corals, large schools of squid, grunts, sea bream, sardines, white gilthead, bogas, fish as peculiar as seahorses, triggerfish, frogfish or swallows and specimens from the group of sharks and rays, such as the angel shark, stingrays, manta rays, sea eagles and quaking sharks.
Sardina is not a dive but a huge point in which we have designed more than 8 different routes.

Very close to Sardina, on the opposite side, we will find in its waters the wildest Atlantic, which depending on the time of year and the state of the sea, will make us enjoy a dive full of sensations, such as dancing next to the manta rays or being surprised by the restless school of horse mackerel. The large cave with its school of grunts and the nearby rajón are two obligatory places to visit.

It is one of the three marine reserves existing in the Canary Islands. The large volcanic plate of 12 to 14 meters depth, also known as the 'Veril de Arinaga' or 'Table Top', is the central point.
