Profile from the dive in the El Arona wreck
Diving with a depth maximum of 35 meters with a duration of about 39 minutes.
Diving from a boat
Deep, be careful with the tempo so as not to decompress on the computer (we recommend starting to ascend with a 4-minute margin and gradually increasing the bottom time)
Wreck DivingGood buoyancy control is essential in light currents and when ascending and descending by rope.
Mandatory use of buoy: It is mandatory to enter and exit at the designated entrance to avoid possible problems with motor vehicles and in the event of having to make an emergency ascent in another place, always throw a signaling buoy before ascending to the surface.
Mandatory use of cable cutters or knives: In this area, non-professional fishing with a “gun-forbidden” rod is permitted, so it is necessary to have a line cutter in case of accidental entanglement with a fishing line.
What to see during the immersion of the El Arona wreck of marine life?
This is possibly the best recreational wreck dive in the entire Canary Islands.
With their 100 meters long and 15 meters wide, it has become a large artificial reef which has been attracting a multitude of species since April 23, 1978.
We usually go down to a depth of 15 metres to begin sailing towards the bow, enjoying the views offered by the deck of the boat.
At the bow the ideal is to move away and with a little luck contemplate the spectacle offered by the large balls of longorones defending themselves from attacks carried out on other predators by skipjack tuna.
At this point we will head towards the first pseudo penetration where while we navigate through the cellars we will be able to contemplate the walls colonized by black coral.
When we leave the cellars we will be greeted by a huge school of sea bream and at this point we will ascend until we see the hull with its enormous keel.
Once we are in the less deep area, it will be time to enjoy another pseudo penetration, heading to the 3 cranes where the White fulas defending themselves as best they can from the attack of the barracudas.
Sometimes we can find a huge school of barracuda with hundreds of specimens grouped together at a depth of about 15 metres. To enjoy this school, we must move away from the wreck to finish the dive in the deep blue.
Finally we will go to the cape that will make the ascent easier and safer.
