Profile from the Sargo Pass dive

The dive profile has a maximum depth of 22 meters (The rock) and a duration of 60 minutes. The entry and exit are the most demanding points of the dive, so it is essential to enter and exit exactly where planned.

Diving in an area with current, so it is very important to go at the same depth as the guide to avoid it.

Good buoyancy control is essential:

Long-distance diving, air consumption is a determining factor

Mandatory use of buoy: It is mandatory to enter and exit at the designated entrance to avoid possible problems with motor vehicles and in the event of having to make an emergency ascent in another place, always throw a signaling buoy before ascending to the surface.

Mandatory use of cable cutters or knives: In this area, non-professional fishing with a “gun-forbidden” rod is permitted, so it is necessary to have a line cutter in case of accidental entanglement with a fishing line.

lifeMarinaGranCanaria

What to see during the Sargo Pass dive of marine life?

This is definitely a Backlit immersion along a path between arches, walls and various geological formations of volcanic origin from the south-facing coast of Sardina that we will see both in and out of the water. Refuge for fry of all species and a multitude of corals such as golden, jewel, molar, giant anemone,..

In the deepest area and if the consumption/bottom time allows us, we will discover the place where the largest congregate. schools of grunts, sea breams, horse mackerels, trumpets, breams, bogas, white gilthead and sardines from all over the bay. Without forgetting very characteristic species of this area such as the Spiny drum, the Canarian lobster, the sharp-nosed ray,…

Another highly recommended option would be to divide the dive into two, doing the shallowest part “El Paso del Sargo” during one dive and the deeper part “La Roca” during another.
