If you are looking for the perfect dive computer for everyday use, this is the Mares Sirius, the optimal combination of technology and elegance.
The new Mares dive computer is presented as the advanced evolution of the Smart with new innovative functions, many of them inherited from the Mares Genius technical dive computer.
Features of Sirius
ZH-L16C algorithm
Use the ZH-L16C Decompression Algorithm with gradient and predictive factors of various gases. LGradient factors were developed by technical divers to make the ZH-L16C algorithm the most advanced decompression tool, capable of handling the most demanding dives. Gradient factors also allow the algorithm to be customized to personal needs in an intuitive and transparent way, making it the most powerful and universal algorithm available today.
This algorithm changes the concept of a stop at which a particular tissue eventually changes from gassing to degassing. This means that we are using the algorithm and not just the depth measurement to determine the depth of the stop.

Predictive decompression system CEIL-CON
The new Mares Sirius decompression system has a predictive decompression mode based on the set combination and also provides for the calculation of decompression with an exponential system.
Controlled decompression from limits (CEIL-CON) maximizes inert gas flushing by guiding the diver in a continuous, controlled ascent between the standard 3-meter decompression stops. This results in shorter decompression times and more uniform supersaturation profiles in body tissues.
Trimix
Mares' implementation of the ZH-L16C algorithm with GF allows the use of up to 5 gases with trimix and heliox, including hypoxic mixtures with an oxygen concentration down to a minimum of 7 %, as well as nitrox with an oxygen concentration up to a maximum of 99 %.
Predictive Multigas
The predictive multigas function allows gas changes during the dive to speed up decompression (air and nitrox only). When the predictive decompression feature is activated, all defined gases are taken into account in the decompression calculation, allowing you to make the most of any extra cylinders you may carry.
MIP Color Display
Color screen High resolution with MIP technology (memory in pixels). The advantage of this technology is its sharpness, whatever the lighting conditions. It also allows for considerable energy savings, thus extending battery life.
The innovative MIP (Memory in Pixel) technology offers very high efficiency for colour displays. These displays, in addition to very high contrast, have an incredibly low power consumption, allowing Sirius to operate as a watch for 10 days and as a dive computer for more than 30* 1-hour dives (the number of dives per charge will depend largely on the use of the backlight and, to a lesser extent, on the water temperature).
Compass
The tilt compensated compass, allows the diver to navigate in absolute safety even if the instrument is not perfectly horizontal. In addition, in compass mode it is possible to set the Mares Sirius with a heading point and a resettable timer.
A compass should always be part of a diver's gear, even if it's not used regularly. That's why having it integrated into your dive computer is the most logical solution. With a digital compass, you can set a bearing to navigate to a wreck, swim across blue water to the beach after a deep canyon dive, and much more! It's also nice to know that it's there if you need it.
Wireless bottle pressure reading
Is there anything better than a pressure gauge on a hose? Yes, a pressure gauge without a hose. And it's even better if it's integrated into the dive computer display. The Mares Tank Module, thanks to a patented radio frequency technology, transmits encrypted tank information at regular intervals that can only be read by a specific dive computer. This way, you can dive with peace of mind even with other divers using the same technology.
With the new Mares LED 2.0 transmitter* installed on your regulator, you can read the tank pressure wirelessly, without a hose. The Mares Sirus receives the tank pressure data every few seconds and the transmitter changes the colour of its LED depending on the availability of gas. This way, your diving partner can know the pressure of your tank by the colour flashing emitted by the LED 2.0 transmitter. Green over 180 bar, Yellow less than 100 bar and Red below 50 bar. The Mares Sirius can read up to 5 transmitters, very useful for controlling groups.
Dive Planning
Off-camera dive planner with extra surface interval function
Depth Gauge Mode
Depth gauge mode with resettable average depth and stopwatch
Loogbook
Loogbook with log of up to 100 dives with multiple graphics.
Battery
Mares introduced the first rechargeable battery dive computer in 2010. Technology has made giant leaps since then and Mares has been part of this evolution step by step, as demonstrated by the induction charging from Sirius.
It has a 200 mAh battery with an approximate duration of 20 hours of immersion and 500 charging cycles. Charging is wireless and extremely easy, just leave your Mares Sirius on the charging pad included in the case and you're good to go.
Bluetooth and Mares App
It has a Bluetooth connection so you can link it to your mobile phone and transfer your dives. In addition, if you download the Mares App mobile application you can record all your dive data automatically. And if you use the SSI app, it is just as easy.
Submarine menu
Underwater menu that allows you to change different settings during the dive.
Alarm
Acoustic indicator that will warn you of the next decompression stop and exponential decompression (patented).
Graphics
Two options for displaying dive data
Case and straps
The Mares Sirius comes with a semi-hard case and an extra-long strap for use with thick wetsuits or drysuits.
Accessories
In addition to the Led Transmitter 2.0, it has a kit of colored straps that you can purchase separately.
Our opinion on the Sirius Seas
The Italian brand has undoubtedly taken a step forward with this new computer, incorporating technology that, in some cases, is very innovative in the sector.
We personally believe that the Mares Sirius is a very versatile computer that covers a wide range of divers with an excellent quality-price ratio.
It perfectly meets the needs of both divers who are just starting to explore the underwater world and those who are more experienced, providing extra security and control for different types of diving. All in a wrist computer that you can wear every day.
If we had to find a "but", it would be the lack of direct cable connection, since only inductive charging is possible. But this is certainly not a problem, we all know that this type of charging will become more and more popular.
Price and where to buy the diving computer
The official price of the Mares Sirius is 799 euros.
