How to get my free SSI crossover kit?

To become an SSI professional, simply register in the MySSI application and select Buceo Norte as your local SSI Training Center.

Once registered, you will have free access to your Crossover digital kit.

What is the process?

The training is divided into two blocks:

Academic Training

Prior to beginning the Virtual Crossover, all candidates must independently study the Crossover materials and take the online final exam. After completing the materials and exam, SSI or the Training Center must schedule virtual academic sessions, video skills sessions, and in-water training.

Training in Water

The in-water session requires an Instructor Trainer to conduct a skills assessment in a confined water session. This session can be organised centrally by the Service Centre or by an external Instructor Trainer, at no additional cost to the candidate.

Is there anything else to pay?

SSI is responsible for sponsoring the Crossover digital kit and funding all equivalent certifications for all active professionals. However, all candidates must pay a renewal fee, which includes Crossover training, physical materials, and renewal for professionals through the end of 2021.

Which diving instructors can benefit?

Only professionals who are currently members of the RSTC (Recreational Scuba Training Council) and/or come from ISO certified training agencies (ISO 24801-1 – Scuba Diver; ISO 24801-2 – Open Water Diver; ISO 24801-3 – Dive Guide; ISO 24802-1 – Assistant Instructor; ISO 24802-2 – Open Water Instructor; ISO 11107 – Enriched Air Nitrox ISO 11121 or Try Scuba Diving ISO 13293) are eligible to participate in this program without having to complete an instructor evaluation with additional costs.
