Why World Oceans Day?
Because we must remember that the oceans are part of our lives even if we live many kilometres away. The oceans are the true lungs of the planet where the greatest amount of oxygen is released. That is why it is necessary to carry out awareness-raising work to help understand the power of our seas, the beauty of their ecosystem and the source of wealth for our society.
Theme of 2020
Every year the United Nations General Assembly sets a general theme around which the great event of World Oceans Day revolves. This year it is:
Innovation for a sustainable ocean
As the challenges facing the ocean continue to grow, so does the need for innovative solutions through people to drive them. Innovation, relating to the introduction of new methods, ideas or products, is a dynamic and fundamentally hopeful term.
At Buceo Norte we support any initiative that promotes ocean conservation and we strive every day to incorporate new outreach tools that help us in our daily work.
